Lobby for Change
Lobbyists who corrupt the political process have gotten a lot of media coverage lately. But lobbying is at the heart of the democratic process. Nonprofit organizations like the Global AIDS Alliance engage in direct advocacy with policymakers at the White House, on Capitol Hill, and elsewhere—educating them on the issues and making specific recommendations on global AIDS policies and funding. And concerned individuals like you engage in grassroots advocacy—speaking out and urging your legislators to do the right thing. Together, we are lobbying for a compassionate and comprehensive response to the global AIDS crisis. And that's a very good thing.
